Step 1: Field Installation

Step 2: Septic Tank Installtion

Step 3:  Initiate the Septic System

At Strongman Septic, we recognize the uniqueness of each project. This is why we customize our septic field installation approach to suit the individual needs of every project. A standard field installation encompasses the following stages:

  1. Preparing the basal area of the field (to be undertaken in dry weather conditions).
  2. Placing aggregates for the field according to design specifications.
  3. Installing dispersal laterals.
  4. Conducting flushing of laterals and performing a squirt test.
  5. Covering the dispersal area with filter fabric and turf blend.
  6. Seeding the area with grass seed.

The process of septic tank installation follows a similar pattern across various projects. While the materials for bedding and backfill may differ depending on the tank’s composition (be it concrete, fiberglass, or plastic) and anti-flotation requirements may vary based on water table levels, we adhere to a systematic step-by-step approach to ensure accurate installation from the outset:

  1. Determine the starting elevation of plumbing lines from all serviced buildings.
  2. Excavate the area for the tanks.
  3. Install suitable aggregates in the excavation to establish a stable base.
  4. Employ a crane or excavator to position the tank securely.
  5. Incorporate anti-flotation components as necessary.
  6. Backfill and compact aggregates around the tank.
  7. Install any prescribed treatment components, such as blowers or UV lamps.
  8. Install an effluent filter where required.
  9. Install effluent pumps and panels according to the design.
  10. Fill the tanks with water for testing purposes.

The documentation and initiating the new septic system represents a crucial yet often overlooked step in the installation process. We take immense pride in our meticulous approach to documentation. Rarely does the installed system perfectly align with the initial design. Even minor adjustments occur, and we ensure comprehensive documentation through a detailed commissioning process. Our commitment extends to providing a PDF commissioning document accompanied by photos, leaving no doubts about the system installed on your property. Here’s a glimpse of the typical items included in our commissioning document:

  1. Customer information
  2. Details of treatment equipment: manufacturer, model, level (Type 1, 2, 3)
  3. Panel specifications: manufacturer, model, flow data, time dosing settings (with accompanying photos)
  4. Transducer or float details (photos included)
  5. Effluent pump specifics: manufacturer, model, serial number, installation date, running amperage (supported by photos)
