Septic System Design

Local Expertise, right in your back yard.

Our Established Design Method Guarantees You Receive the Appropriate Septic System for Your Requirements and the Environment. At Strongman Septic, we recognize that one of the initial steps in any new construction project is to create a design for an onsite septic system. This ensures that your property is capable of handling and managing the wastewater produced by your home. Whether your site presents challenges or your home is going to be large, we are prepared to assist you throughout the design phase, addressing all your inquiries. We prioritize public health during the septic system design process, maintaining clear communication and always taking the time to explain every aspect of the design. Our aim is to make sure you are fully informed and understand the details of your septic system. Additionally, we have a $1,000,000.00 Errors & Omissions insurance policy in place.

Steps for Designing a Septic System

DISCOVERY

The process of finding the right design often begins with a short call to get a quick overview of your needs and plans for your upcoming building. Following this initial discussion, we offer you a link to a concise survey known as “The Property Owner Declaration”. This survey collects all the necessary details needed for us to select the right design approach and determine the suitable strength of the sewage for your project.

SITE VISIT

After you’ve provided us with the official signed copy of your “Property Owner Declaration”, we plan to arrange a visit to the location to further comprehend the environment we’ll be working in. At this meeting, we’ll talk about where you’d like the septic system to be located, the overall space available for the distribution field, and any additional details needed to create the perfect septic system for your property. Sometimes, the septic system’s location is already decided for us based on any existing issues such as wells, natural streams, encircling drains, etc.

SITE WORK

Once we receive approval to create your septic system, we’ll head to your location to conduct necessary excavations. This includes digging at least two test pits and four additional percolation holes. Our aim is to assess the soil’s properties and any possible issues with the site, such as a fluctuating water table during certain seasons, high clay content, or any other barriers to water absorption. By doing site work, we can figure out the field’s dimensions and the best way to spread out the system across your property. Most early system failures occur because of incorrect soil identification.

Design

After finishing the work on our site, we’ll gather the details from your “Property Owner Declaration” and the results from the logs we filled out during the site work. This will allow us to create a custom onsite septic system designed specifically for your needs, using AutoCAD. At this stage, we’ll be able to determine if any extra secondary or tertiary treatment is needed because of space limitations on your property.

Filing

Once the design is complete, we’ll forward a duplicate of the design, along with a duplicate of your property deed and the RSS application, to the nearby Health Department. After we get the stamped receipt from the Health Department, we’ll hand it over to you. With this document, you’re now prepared to apply for your building permits from your local government.
